  • Donated to the City of Ames the land on which Ames Public Library stands
  • Built Mary Greeley Memorial Hospital in 1915-16 in memory of his wife and gave the institution as a city hospital for Ames
  • Co-founded the Union Bank of Ames, the first corporate bank in Ames
