IT'S FUN TIME IN AMES! - AMES SUMMER RECREATION PLAN STARTS NEXT MONDAY - Ames offers a complete supervised summer recreation program for your children. Beginning next Monday, the Summer Recreation Program will again be in session to help children spend their summer months in an enjoyable and constructive manner. If your children are not yet enrolled, do so now! It's your privilege, and one of the many advantages of living in Ames.

Drama - Harry Ausprich, director - Drama will be held on each of the playgrounds. each playground will be visited at least once a week. Puppet production, plays and creative dramatics. Radio Production and Touring Play Company - Central Jr. High Auditorium.
Creative Arts - Marie Guendling, director - drawing, painting (tempra), using crayon, chalk, finger paint, modeling clay, cut paper, 3 dimensional design, mixed media, outdoor sketching, color and design.
Playgrounds - Playgrounds will be held on each of the following locations: Beardshear, Crawford School, Edwards School, Lincoln School, Meeker School, Pammel Court, Roosevelt School, Whittier School, Welch School, Brookside Park
Story Telling - Mrs. Hazel Allen
Swimming - Sponsored jointly by the Playground Commission and the West Story County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Held at Carr's Pool.

|"Fire Chief" Linda Oxley, 5, above, won first prize for the most novel decorations. In second place were Melissa and Melinda Clinton. Other prize-winners at the special day were Bonnie Dandve, Linda Cantonwine, Ronald Cleary and Mike Floerchinger. Playground director is Mrs. George Howe.|
